Ladder 8 is a 1974 American LaFrance that has been refurbished a few times, in 1987 a Pierce cab and chassis were added. In 1998 the old 100 foot ladder was removed and a 85 foot ladder was installed by American LaFrance. Ladder 8 serves as a backup to Truck 1 when it is out or for multiple alarm fires.
